Worked with Kyle and Colby last night doing full nelsons (normal and pushing head down), side nelsons, double rear arm pins, and side headlocks.
We went over the basic escapes and the commonality between the full nelsons and double rear arm pins after the initial breaking of the grip. We also went over how to not let the hold be fully applied and also the best way to get out of the hold is to not let it be applied in the first place vs not fully applied vs full applied.
we then worked on some variations where Tori turns to the outside while keeping control of uke's arm and then attacks the lateral femoral and/or radial, foot sweep to the rear, or, for the full nelsons, turn to the outside while keeping the finger lock and turning into a fingerlock takedown to the rear (over uke's shoulder and taking uke backwards in the direction of his heels).
Side headlock: we did the basic: horse stance @ 90 degrees to the attacker, shrug the shoulders, pull uke's leg into you and attack the groin, step back and slide your head out from under uke's arm and knee to the lateral femoral. We did two variations with the same initial body positioning: 1. tori's left hand reaches behind and over uke's right shoulder and the back of the hand hooks under uke's jaw/chin. peel the head backwards and bring uke backwards over tori's left thigh into a takedown. 2. same hand positioning as 1, but the hand grabs uke's left lapel. Tori's right hand hooks under uke's right knee and then tori knees down on his left knee, bringing uke down. tori then reaches up with the right hand (hand still hooked under the knee) to grab uke's right lapel (reach under the left hand) and execute a gi choke.
